Bulletins – Coffee Benefits

IN THE HART AND CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

It makes more oxygenated blood reach the muscles, helps mobilize the fatty acids that are in the blood, and converts them into energy

IN THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

Protects from asthma, opens the bronchial tubes because it relaxes the muscles around them.

  1. Gives you more energy. Investigators have found that caffeine stimulates the nervous system, facilitating coordination, improving moods and motivation.  Also increments energy levels, resistance and speed and lowers tiredness.

  2. Helps to be vigilant and have better concentration. With increasing mental activity is quite possibly that you loose sleep, although to many people it rather provokes drowsiness.

  3. Prevents blood clogs. Soon caffeine formulas will be use in the making of medication for blood clogs that causes hart attacks and cerebral embolism.

  4. Reduces headaches. Take a cup of coffee can reduce or eliminate headache, since it is due to the tension of the blood vessels in the brain and coffee can dilate reducing pain intensity. It also favours the analgesic effect of aspirin.

  5. Reduces the risk of Parkinson. A recent study has pointed out that coffee is a protective substance that can reduce the risk of Parkinson’s diseases.

  6. Improving asthma and allergies. The caffeine dilates the bronchial tubes by addressing the crisis of asthma and other allergies. Even today caffeine is one of the main substance of many medicines for respiratory problems.

  7. It prevents the formation of calculus. The coffee has a diuretic effect and by increasing urination, minerals are discarded that otherwise may accumulate. People who drink coffee daily can reduce up to 50% the risk of formation of gallstones.

  8. It does not increase the risk of osteoporosis. Recent research has found that a moderate dose of coffee consumption does not increase the risk of osteoporosis. If consuming the necessary amount of daily calcium, caffeine will not change the calcium scheme in the bones.

  9. It does not cause ulcers. The bacteria called Helicobacter pylori are the main cause of ulcers. Too much coffee (more than four cups a day) increases the production of gastric juices and may aggravate any stomach injuries. Therefore, like other food irritants, it is not recommended if you suffer from gastrointestinal problems.

  10. It reduces the risk of developing cancer. Coffee consumed moderately prevents some types of cancers such as colon or bladder, because coffee contains 300 antioxidants and beneficial substances that neutralize through components known as “cafestol” and “kahweol”, free radicals that produce cells oxidation, and therefore, cancer.

  11. It does not affect consumption in childhood. Caffeine does not produce adverse effects in quantities that a child can consume. Studies show that caffeine is not toxic in average children. Only in hyperactive children should be restricted because it is a stimulant.

  12. Prevents cavities. It helps prevent cavities, because it avoids the growth of bacteria in the mouth, as long as it is taken without sugar or milk.

  13. It decreases depression. Depression is an illness and as such should be treated under the supervision of a medical specialist. However, studies published by research institutes with global recognition, discovered that moderate consumption of coffee (less than four cups a day) helps overcome it, since it is a natural stimulant that provides energy.

  14. Reduces the risk of developing diabetes. According to recent research, drinking three to four cups of coffee a day can reduce by up to 30% the risk of developing diabetes, as it’s components reduce the concentration of blood sugar.

  15. Protects the liver. A study involving more than 128 thousand adults found that people who took 4 cups of coffee a day has 5 times less risk of developing cirrhosis, that those who do not drink the beverage.

These recommendations are suitable for people with no important disease or physiological condition. In some cases such as pregnancy, it is recommended to limit the amount to no more than 300 mg/day of caffeine, since in excess it can undesirably reduce weight in the newborn (there are 125 mg of caffeine in a cup of coffee, and 70 mg in a cup of tea).
